Meet our Veterinarian

Dr. Norman Bayne

We are delighted to be working with Dr. Bayne at the Feline Hotel. With over forty years of experience in feline veterinary care, Dr. Bayne brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for cats to our facility. A proud graduate of Michigan State University in 1981, Dr. Bayne has dedicated his career to providing compassionate and specialized care for our feline friends.

Living just across the street from our feline hotel, Dr. Bayne is a convenient and committed addition to our team. He is married with four children, and two grandchildren who bring joy to his life. In his semi-retirement, Dr. Bayne looks forward to spending more time with his family and perhaps welcoming more grandchildren in the future. A lover of college sports and Major League Baseball, Dr. Bayne can often be found watching the Detroit Tigers.

His home is also graced by Paws, a dignified cat who, according to Dr. Bayne, rules the household with grace and keeps everything in tune.

Specializing in feline care, Dr. Bayne is dedicated to providing exceptional veterinary services to our guests. His goal is to continue his lifelong dedication to the well-being of cats while enjoying the slower pace of semi-retirement.

We are excited to have Dr. Bayne on board and know that his expertise and compassionate approach will greatly benefit both our feline guests and their owners.

Veterinary FAQ’s with Dr. Bayne

1. What veterinary services do you offer on-site?

  • We provide a range of veterinary services for our feline guests, including vaccinations (FVRCP, Rabies), health screenings, and treatments for common feline conditions. Dr. Bayne also conducts routine health checks and can administer treatments for parasites, such as flea and tick prevention.

2. Are vaccinations required for boarding my cat?

  • Yes, all cats must have up-to-date vaccinations for FVRCP and Rabies. We also require a recent stool test, and either proof of vaccination or a negative test result for Feline Leukemia and FIV. This ensures the safety and well-being of all cats staying with us.

  • Absolutely! Our in-house vet offers vaccination services, including FVRCP and Rabies. We ensure that all vaccines used are of the highest quality and free from unnecessary additives.

4. What should I bring for my cat’s stay?

  • Please bring your cat’s vaccination records, any special food or medications they may need, and a favorite blanket or toy to make them feel at home. We also recommend using a feline pheromone diffuser like Feliway before their stay to help reduce stress.

  • Our staff is trained in pet first aid and CPR. In the event of a medical emergency, our on-site veterinarian is equipped to provide immediate care. We also have protocols in place for transporting cats to a nearby emergency veterinary clinic if necessary.
