Please send your cat’s veterinary records before arrival so we can review them. Pictures, PDFs, and original electronic records are all accepted. You can also download the veterinary requirements PDF to give to your vet, print this page, or send your vet this page’s link.
All five record checks must be approved
We need all five checks below before your account’s veterinary-record approval is complete. Sending one record does not clear the entire checklist. Uploading documents or making a payment does not establish eligibility; staff must review and approve the records.
- Rabies: one current vaccination, or proof of three past rabies vaccinations.
- FVRCP (distemper): one current vaccination, or proof of three past FVRCP vaccinations.
- Stool parasites: a negative stool test within the past year. If you have multiple cats, we accept a result from any one cat in your household.
- FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus, also called feline AIDS): a negative test within the past three years.
- FeLV (feline leukemia): a negative test within the past three years OR proof of vaccination—one current FeLV vaccination or proof of three past FeLV vaccinations.
Please send existing vaccination history for review. For rabies and FVRCP, our boarding policy accepts proof of three past vaccinations as an alternative to a current vaccination. FeLV has the test-or-vaccination options listed above.
Health and eligibility
- No unsupervised outdoor access.
- Cats must arrive clean and free of contagious illness, fleas, ticks, ear mites, and signs of internal parasites. Tell us about any recent possible contagious exposure before arrival.
- Watch for flea dirt, dark debris in the ears, loose stools, and eye or nose discharge. Cats with clear eye or nasal discharge need a veterinarian’s note stating that they are not contagious.
- No active illness, including loose stools or green or yellow eye or nasal discharge, unless disclosed and expressly approved by The Feline Hotel before arrival.
- Cats older than six months must be spayed or neutered unless we approve an exception before arrival.
- We cannot provide care for cats with documented aggression or biting.
Any illness or spay/neuter exception must be approved before arrival and recorded in writing. It does not excuse the other requirements.
Outdoor access and food
No unsupervised outdoor access and no raw food of any kind, including dehydrated raw food. These restrictions are part of our precautions concerning bird flu and possible exposure to disease or parasites. Food containing wheat gluten is not permitted for cats staying in the group area.
Medical history and special care
If your cat has had health problems, send the relevant veterinary records and an email explaining the condition before scheduling. Please include medications, allergies, special needs, veterinary instructions, contagious exposures, and any history of aggression or biting.
Special care must be expressly accepted before the stay. Boarding is not veterinary hospitalization and does not include continuous individual medical monitoring.
Nails and arrival
Please have your cat’s front nails trimmed recently before boarding. We can provide a nail trim for $20. Walk-in nail trims are available Thursday–Saturday, 9 a.m.–noon, or purchase one year of unlimited nail trims for one cat for $80. Nail-trim details.
Send records and ask questions
Upload records through your booking account or email micathotel@gmail.com. Please send everything before your cat arrives. If you are unsure whether an existing record meets a requirement, email it to us for review.
If records are missing, contact us before arrival. We may be unable to admit your cat. If we agree to arrange a veterinary visit and a private suite for isolation while records or results are obtained, you are responsible for the agreed veterinary and accommodation costs. Do not assume these arrangements will be available at drop-off.
